CHRISTMAS GOSPEL MESSAGE

Text: John 3:16

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

TITLE: WHAT IS CHRISTMAS ALL ABOUT?

 INTRODUCTION:

I. GOD IS THE SOURCE OF CHRISTMAS (John 3:16a)

“For God so loved the world…” (God here refers to God the Father)

If we believe in God, we should have answers to these three questions:

            1.Who created you?

            2.Why were you created (Purpose)?

3.After this life, where will you be heading?

 GOD IS LOVE

In this world, there are many types of love, but God’s love is unique for us.

 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

*“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.8 Love never fails.

II. JESUS IS THE SACRIFICE OF CHRISTMAS (John 3:16b)

“That He gave His only begotten Son…” (The Son refers to Lord Jesus Christ)

 SIN

God loved this world so much that He could not bear to see it perishing because of sin. That’s why He sent His Son to die for sinful humanity—a true sacrifice.

Another important point is that we cannot approach God with a sinful life. That’s why He came for us. This is called unconditional love.

Note: Just as we go to hospitals and doctors to find medicine for physical health problems, there is no human remedy for sin and its bondage. Only through the holy blood of Jesus can sin and bondage be removed from our lives.

Note: If sin remains in our lives, we cannot develop good character, gain respect in society, or live disciplined and joyful lives. Sin brings constant fear, destroys peace, and negatively affects mental health.

Important Note: In this world, even the greatest people eventually die and their tombs remain closed. Only Jesus conquered death, and His tomb was opened and found empty—an event unique in all of history.

III. ALL HUMAN BEINGS ARE INVITED TO CHRISTMAS (John 3:16c)

“Whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life…” (Whosoever refers to all humanity)

Note: Every human being is lovingly invited to enter Heaven, rather than face separation from God. Entering Heaven is not solely about our good deeds—it is about trusting in God, believing in Him, and accepting His grace with a sincere heart. God’s invitation is open to all, and His desire is for everyone to experience His eternal love and peace.

 CONCLUSION:

A call for the whole world to know the Creator and receive His love through Jesus Christ.
