THE REASONS FOR JESUS CHRIST BORN ON THIS EARTH

THE REASONS FOR JESUS CHRIST BORN ON THIS EARTH

1.WE HAVE TO LEAD BORN AGAIN LIFE

(1Peter 1:23) since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God.

1.Spiritual Rebirth: Jesus explained to Nicodemus that no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again (John 3:3). This refers to a transformation of the heart and spirit, not the body.

2.New Identity in Christ: Being born again means we are no longer defined by our past sins but by our relationship with God.

3.Living in the Spirit: The Holy Spirit empowers believers to live differently—walking in righteousness, love, and obedience.

John 3:3–7 – “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again… You must be born again.”

1 Peter 1:3 – “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”

2 Corinthians 5:17 – “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”

John 1:12–13 – “Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—children born not of natural descent… but born of God.”

Titus 3:5 – “He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.”

Being born again is the foundation of Christian faith. It’s not about religion or rituals but about a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. This new life brings freedom from sin, hope for eternity, and daily guidance by the Holy Spirit.

1.Old life of sin is replaced with new life in Christ

2.Assurance of eternal life through Jesus

3.Transformation by the Holy Spirit

4.Adoption into God’s family

5.Entry into God’s kingdom

2.WE HAVE TO BE BORN AS A BEGOTTEN DISCIPLE

(Matthew 24:14) And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

 Begotten (Unique Sonship):

The word begotten emphasizes uniqueness and divine origin. In John 3:16, Jesus is called the only begotten Son of God, highlighting His eternal relationship with the Father. For disciples, being begotten means receiving new life through Christ, not by human effort but by God’s Spirit.

1.Identity: You are no longer defined by flesh but by Spirit—God’s child through rebirth.

2.Relationship: Just as Jesus is begotten of the Father, disciples share in His sonship by adoption.

3.Transformation: Being begotten means living a new life, guided by the Spirit, not by worldly desires.

4.Mission: As begotten disciples, we are called to follow Christ’s teachings and reflect His love.

IMPORTANT NOTE

Mission of Jesus Christ

Jesus’ mission was divinely ordained and centered on salvation, reconciliation, and the proclamation of God’s kingdom.

To Save Humanity from Sin

Luke 19:10: “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

His mission was not political but spiritual—rescuing people from sin and eternal separation from God.

To Give Eternal Life

John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Salvation through faith in Christ is the heart of His mission.

To Reveal God’s Love and Truth

John 14:6: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the father except through me.”

Jesus reveals God’s character and provides the only path to reconciliation.

 To Fulfill God’s Plan

Galatians 4:4-5: “But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth His Son… to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.”

Ministry of Jesus Christ

His ministry was practical, compassionate, and transformative, showing God’s kingdom in action.

 Preaching and Teaching

Matthew 4:17: “From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, ‘Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.’”

His ministry centered on repentance and the coming kingdom.

 Healing and Compassion

Matthew 9:35: “Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching… proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness.”

His miracles demonstrated God’s power and compassion.

 Serving Others

Mark 10:45: “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.”

His ministry modeled humility and sacrificial service.

 Making Disciples

Matthew 28:19-20: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations… teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.”

His ministry extended beyond His earthly life, empowering His followers to continue His work.

1.Focus: -Teaching, healing, serving, discipling

2.Key Verses: -Matthew 9:35, Mark 10:45, Matthew 28:19-20

3.Outcome: -Transformation of lives, spread of gospel

Note: - Jesus’ mission was to save humanity and reveal God’s kingdom, while His ministry showed this mission in action through teaching, healing, serving, and discipling. Together, they form the foundation of Christian faith and practice.

3.WE HAVE TO REBORN IN HIS KINGDOM(HEAVEN)

Becoming sons and daughters of God (Heavenly citizenship)

(Philippians 3:20) But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ

ALL HUMAN BEINGS ARE INVITED TO CHRISTMAS (John 3:16)

“Whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life…” (Whosoever refers to all humanity)

Note: Every human being is lovingly invited to enter Heaven, rather than face separation from God. Entering Heaven is not solely about our good deeds—it is about trusting in God, believing in Him, and accepting His grace with a sincere heart. God’s invitation is open to all, and His desire is for everyone to experience His eternal love and peace.

 What Is Resurrection Life?

Resurrection life is not just about Jesus rising from the dead—it’s about the new life believers receive through Him. It is both present (spiritual renewal now) and future (eternal life after death).

Present reality: Believers are spiritually raised with Christ, empowered to live free from sin.

Future promise: Just as Christ was raised, we too will be raised to eternal life.

Victory over death: -Jesus declares Himself the source of eternal life

John 11:25-26 – “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.”

New spiritual life: -Resurrection life begins now, transforming how we live

Romans 6:4 – “We were buried with him… so that we too may live a new life.”

Power of resurrection: -Paul longs to experience resurrection power daily

Philippians 3:10 – “I want to know Christ… and the power of his resurrection.”

Assurance of eternal life: -Christ’s resurrection guarantees ours

1 Corinthians 15:20-22 – “In Christ all will be made alive.”

Living hope: -Resurrection life brings hope that sustains us

1 Peter 1:3 – “He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.”

 How Resurrection Life Affects Us

Freedom from sin: We are no longer slaves to sin but alive to righteousness (Romans 6:11).

Hope in suffering: Even in trials, resurrection life assures us that death and despair don’t win.

Purposeful living: We live with eternal perspective, knowing this life is not the end.

Empowered faith: The Spirit that raised Jesus empowers us to overcome weakness (Romans 8:11).

Risks of Misunderstanding

Some may think resurrection life is only about heaven. In reality, it’s also about transformation now.

Others may reduce it to symbolic meaning. Scripture insists it is both spiritual and physical reality.

Resurrection life is the believer’s participation in Christ’s victory—living now in His power and looking forward to eternal glory.

Citizenship in heaven

1.Our True Identity

Philippians 3:20 – “But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ.”

This verse highlights that Christians belong to heaven, not earth. Our ultimate loyalty is to Christ, not earthly nations.

Ephesians 2:19 – “Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household.”

Believers are part of God’s family, sharing in His kingdom.

2.Living as Heavenly Citizens

Colossians 3:1-2 – “Set your hearts on things above, where Christ is… Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.”

Citizenship in heaven means focusing on eternal values rather than temporary worldly concerns.

Hebrews 13:14 – “For here we do not have an enduring city, but we are looking for the city that is to come.”

Earthly life is temporary; heaven is our permanent home.

 3.Hope and Assurance

John 14:2-3 – Jesus promises, “In my Father’s house are many rooms… I go to prepare a place for you.”

Citizenship in heaven assures believers of eternal life with Christ.

Revelation 21:27 – Only those written in the Lamb’s book of life will enter the heavenly city. This emphasizes purity and salvation through Christ.

Identity: -Believers belong to heaven (Philippians 3:20)

Family: -We are members of God’s household (Ephesians 2:19)

Focus: -Set minds on eternal things (Colossians 3:1-2)

Hope: -Assurance of eternal home (John 14:2-3)

Purity: -Only the redeemed enter (Revelation 21:27)

 Conclusion

Being a citizen of heaven means:

- Living with eternal perspective.

- Reflecting God’s values in daily life.

- Holding hope in Christ’s promise of eternal life.
